The Sales Workflow starts with a Lead. Leads are potential customers. Any time a new potential customer contacts the company, a Lead file is created for them. If a lead requests information or shows interest in making an order, an Opportunity is created. If a lead asks for a formal quotation, then a Quotation is generated against the opportunity. If a lead asks for a quotation when making initial contact, the opportunity can be skipped. When a quotation is made for a lead, the lead is converted into a customer.
If the customer sends a PO in response to a quotation, then a Sales Order is generated against the Quotation. If a customer sends a PO without a quotation, generate the SO from scratch.
Once the sales order has passed through its approval process, it is sent to production via email. Production departments will produce all needed items for the order and transfer them to Final Pack.
Final Pack will create a Delivery Note to record traceability information on sales shipments. The order is transferred to the Shipping Department.
Once complete, QA will upload necessary documents(if necessary). Once complete, Customer Support will clear the order for shipment. The Shipping department will prepare and ship the order once cleared.
The Customer Support department will send the customer a Sales Invoice. When the Customer pays, a Payment Entry will be created against the Invoice. When shipped and paid in full, the order will be closed.
